Abraham Van Hoosan Obituary

"Died--July 18, 1891, in Ell township, Hancock county, Iowa, at the home of his daughter Mrs. Charlotte Karr, Abraham Vanhoosan, aged 91 years, 6 months and 18 days. The deceased was born in Athens, N.Y., and was married there to Sarah Aikens, going soon after to Hudson, N.Y., where he lived a few years and then removed to Cleveland, Ohio, where he resided fourteen years. From there he went to Juneau County, Wis., and about three months ago came to pass his remaining days in Iowa.

He leaves an aged wife and ten children to mourn his loss. His last words were "I will soon be over the river and then I will be at rest." "Over the river they beckon to us loved ones, who're passed to the other side."
